This summer, it’s stripes with a twist: you’ll want your stripes to dominate your outfit. To be on the safe side, you can match your ensemble, or enliven things by mixing stripes with other prints. Mixing and matching is one of the biggest fashion trends this year.

While shows like Mad Men have gotten us passionate about all things 60s recently, there’s another era full of fashion love. Styled glamorous or bohemian, the 1970s have a strong place on today’s runways.

If you are a woman, one pair of shoes is never enough. Shoes can make or break any outfit. There are many ways to add style to your favorite outfit with a pair of shoes.

One way to wear shoes is to match them to your outfit. You can browse through different shoe and dress styles by using online resources like www.offers.com. Vacations and traveling are supposed to be a time of rest and relaxation but that does not have to mean that the fashionista in you has to take a vacation as well. Fashion on vacation can be stunning, comfortable, and practical.

Most of the time we plan a vacation to exotic locations that are completely different from the places that we live. Think of your vacation as your own private runway. You are strutting your stuff in outfits that you will probably not wear again for years.

Many travelers spend hundreds of dollars on winter wear equipment and clothing that they wont wear again until the next ski season. Since you will be purchasing the clothing anyway, why not add your own personal touch. Rather than just buying plain black snow clothes, dress up your winter gear with color and accessories. The same can be applied to tropical locations. The weather is beautiful and the temperature is warm so there is no need to wear dull colors. Tropical vacations are the perfect time to break out those heavily beaded tank tops that you never wear and string those chunky beaded necklaces around your neck. Accessorize your outfit with great pieces like floral print purses and a great pair of sandals.

Vacations are a time to relax and the fashions that you chose to being with you should not inhibit your from enjoying your time away but there is not need to wear sweats for the duration of your trip.

Sometimes there is no choice in footwear. A job may require dress shoes or work boots, making expressing yourself difficult. It is what is worn when the choice is completely yours that shows so much more about you.

Everyone has a favorite pair of shoes. Comfortable shoes, perhaps durable shoes, but most of all, shoes that make a statement about the person wearing them. Is it more comfortable to wear a pair of slippers and some sweats, or will rocking Nike clothes let people know more? Women love shoes, and men need something to keep them from getting nails in their feet. Yet, the choice of the shoe says a lot about the person wearing them.

Nike makes the statement, conveying both fashion sense and comfort at the same time. While a woman may own many pairs of shoes, her favorites will be her signature. They will be well cared for, yet fit her like a glove. Men will wear their favorites until they literally fall off their feet. Whatever the case may be, shoes are an important part of every wardrobe. People are cranky at the end of the day if their feet hurt, but they are ready to take on more if they have spent a day in comfortable shoes.

Don’t be cranky, be comfortable. Make choices that show who you are, without suffering with ill-fitting or uncomfortable shoes. With so many brands and styles to choose from, you have so many choices that there is bound to be something that says just who you are.

Do some research to try to find wish lists for the recipient-to-be. For instance, Amazon will let you search by name or email to find someone’s list or items. You could try this with regard to certain sites, or ask those around the individual if they know of any ways to locate gift ideas.

If you really must buy the fashion item – at your own risk – stay to items that aren’t as personal. For instance, purchasing a dress or a tie is quite difficult, as some have highly personal taste for these items (and fit for the dress). Don’t be too afraid to buy a fashion-related gift. There certainly are ways to allow for room in terms of taste.

In fact, it’s often the case that people on vacations tend to spend too much. That’s not because spending is an essential or pleasantly-indulged part of vacationing (although some would probably argue that). This will show that you have self-confidence because you are willing to express yourself that way.

Celebrities are generally the first to wear a trend. Once they begin wearing it, everyone else does. If you notice that plenty of people are wearing a certain thing, it’s probably already a trend. It’s definitely a trend if a lot of people in a small area, such as your school or work, are wearing it. You may want to begin wearing it as well to continue the trend.

You don’t have to have a closet full of shoes to have a variety of shoes. Sometimes, something as simple as changing the color of your shoe laces will create a whole different look to the shoe. When a pair begins looking old, but aren’t completely worn out, you can do a lot to make them look new again and even make them look like a new pair.

Designing your own pair of shoes is easy when you have the right materials. If the shoes are beginning to wear to the point where you can’t wear them anymore, you may want to simply throw them away, but if they are still wearable, you can create a whole new look with them.

Begin by washing them so you can easily work with them. A rough dish scrubber will easily get the dirt out, but make sure to get between the cracks that tend to hold a lot of dirt. Take the laces off when you wash them and make sure to scrub the tongue.

If the ends of your shoe are beginning to come apart, such as on tennis shoes, adding a little glue, preferable strong glue, should help keep the ends stuck together. Do this at any places where your shoe is falling apart.

You can glue anything you want onto the shoe. If you have an old pair of flats, you may want to glue a bow onto to shoe, or jems in a creative pattern. Sequence would also look great on a pair of flats. Be creative and add whatever you thing would look nice.

If you are recreating tennis shoes, you can try dying your old laces or getting new ones. New laces would look nicer and you can even get many pairs so you can interchange them.

Read magazines often that have fashion information in them. The magazines you read don’t have to be all about fashion, but simply have a fashion section. Magazines such as Seventeen aren’t completely about fashion, but they have fashion sections. These magazines will give you tips about your fashion and a heads up on new fashion for the coming seasons.

Keep your eyes on the celebrities. You can look up pictures of them and research their fashion to see what they are wearing. Chances are, if a celebrity is wearing it, it is going to catch on sooner than later. The faster that you can catch on to celebrity trends, the earlier you will be wearing the trend and then everyone will wear what you are wearing.

Watch what is being sold in your favorite stores. If you see something new, you may want to research it before you buy it. If you really like it, then go for it. If you like something new, other people most likely will as well and it is going to catch on.

It takes a lot of researching to catch on to new trends fast. When you already see everyone wearing it, you’re almost too late. The trend is bound to die soon. That’s why being able to catch on to trends early is a good thing. You want to catch on fast so that the trend isn’t already old by the time you catch on.

Thankfully, leotards were lost to the ’90s, but the rest of 1986 had a score to settle, and it’s not leaving for a few more years. It’s the law of current fashion; whatever generation is in college, their clothes get the limelight until the next decade’s children strike out on their own.

So hold on to those jeans of yours; they’ll go from “old” to vintage” before too long. Rip some holes to win some cred, or just put a lot of life into them.

The remnants of each reigning fashion linger on in the next big thing. Traces of ’90s layers can still be found in the resurrected ’80s fashions of today, Ugg boots underwent a slight retro re-outfitting and kept going strong. Call it fashion Darwinism if you will, where the good gets brought along by the rising threads, and the bad dies in the bargain bin, destined to languish in a second-hand store.

Watches are a tricky fashion, but can be a fun accessory. Originally a gentleman’ item, a pocket watch, preferably with some sentimental value, was a must. It was as much a sign of status as a time-keeping necessity. Gradually, ladies’ delicate wristwatches came into vogue, and now, you can find every type of watch imaginable. Wearing a light blue button-up shirt, it said humble and familiar, yet striking at the same time. Donald topped that with a handsome red tie and a mauve scarf, both standing out nicely from his shirt. The whole ensemble was rounded out by a multi-layer black coat, at once both stylish and functional as Donald cheered his team to victory. He’s living proof that trendiness can always be a part of your life.
