For those who love fashion, there is no way you can go wrong with a gift if you pick up the right designer handbag or a few accessories from their favorite clothing designer. With many options on the market, all it takes is knowing what he or she enjoys in fashion to know what to buy.

Tips for Finding the Gift

For those who are fashion lovers, name brands are important. However, giving something that is going to impress them takes some creativity. Be more creative with these helpful hints.

Give something vintage by their favorite designer. This is a fantastic way to show you care enough. Take a look at some of the designer’s first pieces, or original lines, and pick something your loved one will enjoy.

Buy something that matches what they own. For example, they may have their favorite designer’s handbag. Buy the matching wallet or makeup kit that goes along with it. Find accessories that add to the look. Consider the accessories at CostumeExpress.com, for example.

Buy those items they will not buy for themselves. It may be a high-end perfume or that luxurious scarf and leather gloves. Buying what a person wants is an important step since your tastes may not match your gift recipient’s tastes.

If all goes wrong, or you just don’t want to risk buying them the wrong gift, go with a gift certificate to a fashionable boutique in the area. This is a surefire way to give them something usable and fun. Chances are good the gift recipient will love heading to the best fashion boutique in town to pick something out.

It is the dream of many fashionistas to become a fashion designer. This is no small feat, either. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to learn the skills required for fashion design, launch a fashion line, and keep your business profitable. The following are some things you need to learn in order to be successful as a fashion designer.

Image via Wikipedia

Learn how to budget and manage your money. This is a skill that every business owner needs to have. You can’t expect your fashion line to do well if you don’t know how to manage your profits and expenses properly.

Go to fashion design school. There are not many schools that offer this degree, so you might have to spend a bit more money to get into a program that will teach you the skills you need. Going to school with other people who aspire to be fashion designers, however, is a great way to network and create successful business partnerships.

Take undergraduate classes that will help you in your career. You’ll probably want to take art classes to get your creative juices flowing and to practice your sketching skills.

There is more to fashion design than just sewing. You have to be able to spot trends and know what is going to look good on people. You also have to have a keen eye for detail and color.

Being a fashion designer is an exciting career. You just have to learn the business skills you need in order to be successful. Combine a love of fashion with business brains and you have a winning combo.

Sizzling weather calls for the same in fashion, and 2011 is choc full of chic trends to add a burst of heat to your wardrobe.

Shapes, Stripes, and Sultry Bygone Days

Look for new twists on old shapes to kick summer into gear. Though they won’t be totally replacing the skinny cut, wide leg pants find a home on the stylish silhouette this summer, and they shift easily from the office to the bar. As we’ve already seen, long is in this year. Maxi skirts and dresses lengthen hems—get on-trend with sheer styles.

This summer, it’s stripes with a twist: you’ll want your stripes to dominate your outfit. To be on the safe side, you can match your ensemble, or enliven things by mixing stripes with other prints. Mixing and matching is one of the biggest fashion trends this year.

While shows like Mad Men have gotten us passionate about all things 60s recently, there’s another era full of fashion love. Styled glamorous or bohemian, the 1970s have a strong place on today’s runways.

Finding Inspiration

With all the possibilities, it takes a discerning eye to interpret fashion trends. Look to fashion blogs to see what’s in and gain inspiration for risk-taking styling. You can also check out your favorite stores’ website. Many sites link to blogs where they’ll not only show you how to style pieces you know you’ll love, but also provide tidbits of inspiration beyond the clothes. And keep a look out whenever you step out. That stranger on the subway might have an interesting take on the latest trend. Keep your eyes open for inspiration everywhere.

If you are a woman, one pair of shoes is never enough. Shoes can make or break any outfit. There are many ways to add style to your favorite outfit with a pair of shoes.

One way to wear shoes is to match them to your outfit. You can browse through different shoe and dress styles by using online resources like www.offers.com. If you have a tan dress, you may want to purchase a pair of tan or brown pumps to match. You can also take the opposite approach and enhance a dark outfit by adding a pop of color with shoes. If you plan on wearing a little black dress for a night on the town, don’t purchase black shoes. Instead go with silver, red, or even a zebra-print shoe to make a bold statement.

You may also choose to match your shoes to your handbag. Don’t worry if they do not match exactly. Many designers are pushing mixing and matching. Try wearing a plain leather bag with patterned shoes for a fresh, new look. Don’t go too wild, however. A polka dot bag and checkered shoes may be pushing the envelope just a little bit too much.

The right shoes can help change an outfit from day to night. If you are wearing dark jeans and a blazer to work on a Friday, wear flats during the day for a professional look. When getting ready to meet up with friends for a drink after work, ditch the flats and put on a pair of high-heeled boots or pumps to give the outfit a complete transformation.

Fashion on vacation can be stunning, comfortable, and practical.

Most of the time we plan a vacation to exotic locations that are completely different from the places that we live. Think of your vacation as your own private runway. You are strutting your stuff in outfits that you will probably not wear again for years.

Many travelers spend hundreds of dollars on winter wear equipment and clothing that they wont wear again until the next ski season. Since you will be purchasing the clothing anyway, why not add your own personal touch. Rather than just buying plain black snow clothes, dress up your winter gear with color and accessories. If you normally wear stylish clothes, find stylish snow coats.

The same can be applied to tropical locations. The weather is beautiful and the temperature is warm so there is no need to wear dull colors. Tropical vacations are the perfect time to break out those heavily beaded tank tops that you never wear and string those chunky beaded necklaces around your neck. Accessorize your outfit with great pieces like floral print purses and a great pair of sandals.

Vacations are a time to relax and the fashions that you chose to being with you should not inhibit your from enjoying your time away but there is not need to wear sweats for the duration of your trip.

Sometimes there is no choice in footwear. A job may require dress shoes or work boots, making expressing yourself difficult. It is what is worn when the choice is completely yours that shows so much more about you.

Everyone has a favorite pair of shoes. Comfortable shoes, perhaps durable shoes, but most of all, shoes that make a statement about the person wearing them. Is it more comfortable to wear a pair of slippers and some sweats, or will rocking Nike clothes let people know more? Women love shoes, and men need something to keep them from getting nails in their feet. Yet, the choice of the shoe says a lot about the person wearing them.

Nike makes the statement, conveying both fashion sense and comfort at the same time. While a woman may own many pairs of shoes, her favorites will be her signature. They will be well cared for, yet fit her like a glove. Men will wear their favorites until they literally fall off their feet. Whatever the case may be, shoes are an important part of every wardrobe. People are cranky at the end of the day if their feet hurt, but they are ready to take on more if they have spent a day in comfortable shoes.

Don’t be cranky, be comfortable. Make choices that show who you are, without suffering with ill-fitting or uncomfortable shoes. With so many brands and styles to choose from, you have so many choices that there is bound to be something that says just who you are.

However, there are some ideas that can support this person and their love – without dictating a trip to the “returns” area of the store.

Do some research to try to find wish lists for the recipient-to-be. For instance, Amazon will let you search by name or email to find someone’s list or items. You could try this with regard to certain sites, or ask those around the individual if they know of any ways to locate gift ideas.

You could also consider gift certificates to the person’s favorite store. While some consider this to be too general, at times, it is a good option, according to many. Plus, you could choose a new fashion location that the person likely hasn’t been to, make it into a fashion road trip, or something to spruce it up a bit.

If you really must buy the fashion item – at your own risk – stay to items that aren’t as personal. For instance, purchasing a dress or a tie is quite difficult, as some have highly personal taste for these items (and fit for the dress). Consider a watch, piece of jewelry (cufflinks for a man), or something else that might work better. Of course, make sure they can return the item!

Don’t be too afraid to buy a fashion-related gift. There certainly are ways to allow for room in terms of taste.

Traveling is a complicated experience, because you have to consider so many additional factors. Even common activities such as shopping can become very different when you’re traveling. Your needs are different and the environment through which you’re navigating is different; it’s easy to give over to impulse and behave in ways you wouldn’t at home, such as buying too much.

In fact, it’s often the case that people on vacations tend to spend too much. That’s not because spending is an essential or pleasantly-indulged part of vacationing (although some would probably argue that). When you’re on vacation, it’s easy to buy something without thinking about it. Perhaps you’ve bought a bunch of memorabilia (itself a questionable expense, but you’ve got to have some kind of memento, right?) and need something to carry it in, so you buy a new suitcase. Or you want to attend a party but you didn’t bring much in the way of formal wear, so you buy a suit. Expenses such as these which you might think twice or thrice about at home become second nature on vacation, because you’re deliberately setting aside the normal operations of your life, and that often includes budgetary concerns.

Unfortunately, the bill collectors don’t smile and nod understandingly when you explain that you don’t really owe your debt because you were “on vacation.” It’s a good thing then that you can get a Reach Card prepaid visa. With the prepaid card, you can control your expenses with a clearly defined limit, so you always know what you can afford and what you can’t, whether you’re on a quick trip by yourself or an extended vacation with the family.

When it comes to shoes, there is so much variety. You have different types of shoes, and each pair is designed differently. You can buy tennis shoes, flats, high heals, moccasins, boots, and many more with so much variety of each type.
Women really do love their shoes. It can be boring to wear the same pair every single day, but shoes also help add to our outfits. Some outfits aren’t complete without a certain type of shoe. For example, you would never wear tennis shoes with a dress. You would, instead, wear flats or high heals. That’s why having a variety of shoes is important.
You need comfortable shoes for every day activities. You may even have several pairs of comfortable shoes. If you’re simply going to school or work you may be wearing tennis shoes or moccasins to stay comfortable in.
If you’re in a sport you need athletic shoes. Sometimes different sports have different types of shoes. For example, basketball shoes are completely different than tennis shoes. If you participate in a sport, you aren’t going to wear those shoes around every day, but only use them for your sport.
Dressing up also requires a different type of shoe. You may even need several pairs based on how you dress up and what you’re wearing. Some shoes don’t go with certain outfits, so you may have several pairs of fancy shoes.
Having a variety of shoes is important based on the activities you participate in. It you only have one pair of shoes, they are going to get worn out easily because you wear them constantly, and they won’t work in certain situations.

Clothing can be a way to express yourself. You can buy clothes with patterns to show your personality or show it with colors or jewelry. One great way to express yourself is through sock, preferable long socks that will be noticeable.

Socks are a great way to express yourself because they are fairly cheap and come in such a variety. You can find basically any design of sock you want. You can use these designs and colors to show your personality.

You can use socks to show your hobbies and interests. If you are in a certain sport, you can find socks that show almost any sport. You can find designs or lettering and there’s such a variety of each. You can find socks that have designs of almost any other hobby that you have. Your interests can be expressed such as if you like animals or other things like that.

Colors are a great way to show your mood. Bright colors are for good moods while dark colors are for bad moods. You can even get multicolored socks to show your mood. Colors aren’t only for your mood, but can show your personality.

Socks also come in different lengths so you can always decide what you’re comfortable in. Remember, though, that no one is going to see the short socks, so you may want to buy knee high socks. Don’t be afraid to show them off, either. Roll up your pants if you have to and don’t feel as if you look odd. This will show that you have self-confidence because you are willing to express yourself that way.

It’s much easier to follow a trend than to start one. Following trends are quite easy if you can catch on to them. You can easily follow trends by paying attention to what celebrities are wearing, what others are wearing, and what you see in stores and magazines.

Celebrities are generally the first to wear a trend. Once they begin wearing it, everyone else does. If you pay attention to what they are wearing, you can easily tell what’s going to catch on and what has already turned into a trend. You can see what celebrities are wearing in magazines, on television, and on the Internet.

If you notice that plenty of people are wearing a certain thing, it’s probably already a trend. It’s definitely a trend if a lot of people in a small area, such as your school or work, are wearing it. You may want to begin wearing it as well to continue the trend.

Stores generally only sell things that are in style. If it’s being sold brand new, it’s probably in style at that time. You may see the same style in several different stores, and you can rely on that to make sure something is actually in style.

Magazines are a great resource for fashion advice. They will tell you what’s in style now, what is going to be in style, how to wear it, and where to buy it. If you’re unsure about fashion, you may want to read fashion magazines to get a good idea about what’s in style and where fashion is going.

Starting a trend begins with wearing something different than what is normally seen. It doesn’t have to be completely weird and way out there, but it has to be original. A trend can even be a hairstyle if you want it to be. You can color your hair or cut it a certain way, hoping it will catch on.

Starting your own trend can be difficult unless you’re a celebrity. You may think that a trend means the whole country is in on it, but you can start a trend in your school or town. Sometimes you need to start small first and the trend may spread even farther.

You want your trend to be cute. You don’t want it to necessarily stick out oddly, but something that sticks out enough for people to compliment and admire. It’s easy to do this with hairstyles. You can color your hair a certain way, and it may catch on, and it may not. You can also start a trend with clothing. Make sure, though, that it’s something people are going to like. If people wouldn’t ever wear it, it’s never going to catch on.

If your trend is having difficulties catching on, you may want to get your friends in on it. For example, if you’re trying to get a hairstyle to catch on, you may want to ask your friends if they would color their hair the same. It may be hard to get them to accept, but it’s worth a try. It’s probably easier to get your friends in on wearing a certain article of clothing.

It’s so easy to go over budget while we shop, especially when we’re shopping for clothes and every shirt and pair of pants we try on we must have. Some people find it easier to stay within their budget than others do. Follow these simple tips to stay within your budget:
Decide before you go shopping how much money you are going to spend and only bring that much cash with you. Avoid using credit or debit cards. It’s much easier to see where your money is going with cash, and you will not be able to go over your limit if you only have a set amount along with you.
Before you go shopping, inventory your closet. You may already know what is in your closet and what you do and don’t need, but decide beforehand what you are going to buy. If you need more jeans, avoid looking at the shirts so you aren’t tempted to buy them and only look at the jeans. It is so easy to get distracted by cute clothing that we don’t necessarily need, but soon you realize you’ve spent all your money on shirts and only bought one pair of pants.
Only buy what you need. There are plenty of cute articles of clothing out there that can tempt us, but if we buy things we don’t need we won’t have money for the things we do need. Then we end up spending money on both and going over our budget.
Sales are great, but don’t let them fool you. If you find something you are going to actually use on the sales rack, then you should definitely buy it, but if you are never going to wear it and you’re only buying it because it’s on sale, then that’s not actually a good deal at all because you’re wasting money on something you’ll never use.

You don’t have to have a closet full of shoes to have a variety of shoes. Sometimes, something as simple as changing the color of your shoe laces will create a whole different look to the shoe. It’s actually quite simple to change the look of your shoe. When a pair begins looking old, but aren’t completely worn out, you can do a lot to make them look new again and even make them look like a new pair.

Designing your own pair of shoes is easy when you have the right materials. If the shoes are beginning to wear to the point where you can’t wear them anymore, you may want to simply throw them away, but if they are still wearable, you can create a whole new look with them.

Begin by washing them so you can easily work with them. A rough dish scrubber will easily get the dirt out, but make sure to get between the cracks that tend to hold a lot of dirt. Take the laces off when you wash them and make sure to scrub the tongue.

If the ends of your shoe are beginning to come apart, such as on tennis shoes, adding a little glue, preferable strong glue, should help keep the ends stuck together. Do this at any places where your shoe is falling apart.

You can glue anything you want onto the shoe. If you have an old pair of flats, you may want to glue a bow onto to shoe, or jems in a creative pattern. Sequence would also look great on a pair of flats. Be creative and add whatever you thing would look nice.

If you are recreating tennis shoes, you can try dying your old laces or getting new ones. New laces would look nicer and you can even get many pairs so you can interchange them.

You don’t have to be the one to start a trend to be one of the first to catch on. Usually celebrities are the ones to begin trends. If you can keep up with them, you can be one of the first to wear a trend. You will be seen as one of the fashionable people, and people will know that if you are wearing it, it’s going to become big soon.

Read magazines often that have fashion information in them. The magazines you read don’t have to be all about fashion, but simply have a fashion section. Magazines such as Seventeen aren’t completely about fashion, but they have fashion sections. These magazines will give you tips about your fashion and a heads up on new fashion for the coming seasons.

Keep your eyes on the celebrities. You can look up pictures of them and research their fashion to see what they are wearing. Chances are, if a celebrity is wearing it, it is going to catch on sooner than later. The faster that you can catch on to celebrity trends, the earlier you will be wearing the trend and then everyone will wear what you are wearing.

Watch what is being sold in your favorite stores. If you see something new, you may want to research it before you buy it. If you really like it, then go for it. If you like something new, other people most likely will as well and it is going to catch on.

It takes a lot of researching to catch on to new trends fast. When you already see everyone wearing it, you’re almost too late. The trend is bound to die soon. That’s why being able to catch on to trends early is a good thing. You want to catch on fast so that the trend isn’t already old by the time you catch on.

Have you ever dreamed of having your own fashion show? There are many reasons why you might want to plan your own. First, it’s a great way to raise money for a school organization or for a charity. Second, if fashion is something that you want to be a part of, planning your own show is a great experience that you can include on your resume and it may impress potential employers.

The first step to planning your fashion show is to decide on the theme and focus of your show. The focus could include showcasing local designers or showing off current fashion trends for Homecoming. Themes of fashion shows are important and can make or break the success of the show. Do your homework by studying what others have done for fashion shows. Make sure your theme fits well with the focus of the show as well as the designs being shown off. Try to avoid the typical models walk down the runway show that is so common. This could include using an interesting runway (such as one that circles around the audience or that lights up with each step) or it could include having drastic makeup on the models.

The second step is to choose a venue. The venue is important because it will narrow down what you are able to do with the design of the show; for example, the room’s size will narrow down the size of the runway, etc.

The next step is to find models, make-up artists, and others to help with hair and accessorizing the models. Once the models are chosen, be sure to take down the measurements of the models so the clothes can betailoredto their measurements.

Last, but probably most important, is to advertise your fashion show. This can be done through the use of flyers (either posted or mailed), sharing the event on Facebook, and word of mouth.

It’s easy to go over budget especially when shopping for clothes. There is so much variety and we can’t decide which shirt we like better or if we should get the shirt or the pants, so we just end up buying both of them. It’s hard to stop shopping until all our money is gone. Admit it, it happens to you practically every shopping trip. You can stay within your budget easier by only bringing the amount of cash you wish to spend along with you, only buying necessary items, and making sure the ‘deals’ you take advantage of will really benefit you.

First and foremost, only bring the amount of money you plan on spending. If you have more money on you than you plan to spend, leave the extra money at home. Only bring cash along. It’s much harder to realize when you’ve spent over your budget when you are using a card. Bringing cash will help you see what money you have left to spend and when it’s time to quit spending.

Buy only the things you really want or need. Too often we buy things that look convenient, especially because it’s on sale. Then we end up wasting our money on that and don’t have any left for something we see later that we really do want. The less you spend on unnecessary items, the more money you will have for the items you need.

Don’t be fooled by sales. The more you buy unnecessary items on the sales racks, the less money you will have for other things. It is nice to get a good deal, but don’t go for it unless the item will actually be useful to you. Sometimes we see a good deal and take advantage of it, but it isn’t always the best deal unless you can really use the item and will wear it often.

One of the great things about the Internet is that just about anyone can launch a site and become a business owner. If you want to launch your own online shopping site, you can do it with a few mouse clicks, some ingenuity, and a very low investment. Like any business, though, your shopping site isn’t going to do well if customers can’t find it or if they don’t like it. One of the ways to make sure that your customers stay happy is to survey them and see if they like what they’re finding when they come to your site. If they aren’t happy and they don’t buy from you, it’s a great idea to find out why. Maybe you can make some changes that will keep people happier with what you’re offering.

There are plenty of free online surveys that you can create, so you don’t have to make a big monetary investment to find out what your customers think. It doesn’t even take much time to make a survey, but it’s one of the most important things you can do for your shopping site. While you’re creating surveys, customize them. You’ll need one for existing customers and one for new customers, so that you can ask different kinds of questions. Not everyone will want to take the survey, but you should get enough responses to get some good information about what the people who visit your site really think.

Using a free version of a survey can help you avoid spending a lot of money when you’re just getting started on a site, and you really need to know what your customers are looking for. By seeing their likes and dislikes right there in black and white, you can make changes to your shopping site that will benefit them and that will also help out future customers – which ultimately helps out your bottom line.

Fashion does not define us. It expresses our personality. It is a fact that people are judgmental, and one of the first things that people see when they first meet you is your fashion. It may not be their intention, but they use your fashion as a way of determining what type of person you are. Your hair, makeup, clothing, accessories, it all gives them insight into who you are. Sometimes you are that person they initially see, and sometimes you’re not.

First impressions are made within the first 15 seconds of meeting a person. Because fashion is one of the things the mind subconsciously takes note of when you first meet a person, you can use fashion to your advantage to gain a better first impression from other people.

The key is to never pretend you’re someone you’re not. Wear what you’re comfortable in. Do your hair the way you like it. Don’t try to be someone else because most people can see through this and can tell you are uncomfortable.

When you are meeting people casually, dress the way you normally dress. If you are meeting a friend of a friend, you want that person to look at you the same way your friend does. You may want to stick with this rule for casual dates as well, especially blind dates. It’s okay to dress up a little, but try to be yourself, in every way possible, including your fashion.

It’s easier to use fashion to your advantage when you are meeting someone socially above you such as at an interview. Dressing nice will help gain a better first impression from your interviewer. You can use this for other situations as well where you are meeting someone important and in a formal setting.

Fashion is something that shows the world who you are. It is an expression of your personality. When your personality changes, its okay to change your style as well. This generally happens in teenagers. The main thing is to not pretend to be someone you’re not. You want your fashion to reflect who you are.

There are a lot of clothing lines out there. Some of them were started by ‘normal’ people who became famous because of their clothing lines. Others were started by famous people who were popular for something else and then decided that they wanted to have a clothing line. No matter how these things got started, they often gain a lot of popularity – but people are sometimes surprised when they realize who owns and runs a clothing line. They generally don’t think about who owns it. They only think about whether they like the clothes and if they want to continue to buy them. They look at price, quality, and style, and they just make their choices based on those things.

They also look for what fits – but sometimes something else catches their eye, like a name on the clothing that they recognize. For instance, a lot of people don’t realize that the Baby Phat clothing line is run and designed by Kimora Lee Simmons, who is the ex-wife of Russell Simmons. Until recently, she was the CEO of the clothing line. Whether that matters to you when you’re buying clothing may depend on several factors, but it’s something that you should think about.

Sometimes people buy or choose not to buy things specifically because of who those things are associated with, too. If you don’t like someone’s politics or personal choices, for example, you might decide not to buy anything from that person’s clothing line or other business. The general public doesn’t feel that strongly about too many things, but there will always be some people who will take interest in who runs a company and allow that to affect their choices. If you’re one of those people, it may be important for you to know who owns and operates the clothing lines that you like and the other items that you choose to buy.

When you become interested in fashion, it is hard to keep up with what’s in and what’s out. There is actually a lot of research that needs to be done if you want to keep up with the latest fashion trends. If you really want to be known for your taste in fashion, there are several things you can do such as read magazines, search online, and watch what others are wearing.

There are plenty of magazines that you can find that talk about fashion in every issue. Magazines such as Seventeen, Glamour, Vogue, and many other magazines will talk about fashion in every issue. Subscribe to one or more of these magazines if you really want a heads up on fashion. Not only will you get a heads up, but they will give you advice on how to save money, where to shop, and other great things about fashion, including a hair and makeup section.

Keep up with fashion online. You can do this by checking up on certain blogs and even searching fashion on search engines. You can even search for recent celebrity pictures. If you see Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift wearing it, it is sure to catch on. This can give you insight into what styles are coming up and what you should prepare for next season.

Watch what other people are wearing. If you see a lot of people wearing it, it is in style. Perhaps once you see that many people are wearing it, you know that it’s accepted and you would want to go buy it also. Keep on track of when trends begin to change. Get rid of the old trends and begin early on the new ones.

These tips should help you stay on track of recent fashion. If you really want to be fashionable, you have to be ahead of others in fashion trends, but remember that if you don’t like it, you don’t have to wear it just because it’s in style. Choose clothes that you want to wear and are comfortable in.

Shopping for clothing doesn’t have to be expensive. There are plenty of ways to save money and watch your budget. What are some of these tricks?

Set a budget and only bring cash with you. If you only bring cash along, you will be able to see where your money is going and how much you have left. When you use a credit or debit card, it is harder to see how much money you have spent and how much you have left of your budget. You will most likely end up spending more than you intended if you use a card.

Don’t buy things just because they are on sale, but look at the sales rack anyway. If there is something there that you like, then you should go for it, but if you’re not sure about it, don’t buy it, because, chances are, you’ll never wear it anyway. If you can find a great deal on something that you’ll use, then buy it, but if you’ll never wear it, just leave it on the rack.

Shop online. It’s probably easier to find deals online than it is by browsing through the stores. Remember to not buy it just because it’s on sale. Take note of the shipping cost because some people like to take advantage that some people don’t look at this, and you end up paying a lot more than you should. It’s better to go with something that has a return policy because you can’t try these things on, so if it doesn’t fit you can just send it back. Also, try your best to keep track of your money just like you would if you were at the mall.

Once you buy your clothes, take care of them. The better you take care of your clothes, the less shopping is necessary. Avoid pulling your shirts down often as this can cause rips and stretching, and roll up your pants if they’re too long so you don’t tear the bottoms. You can also take care of your clothing by bleaching your whites and avoiding stains.

We all know that when we shop, there are probably millions of pieces of clothing to look at in a mall, not to mention thousands of different styles, colors, etc. With so many pieces of clothing, you should be able to find the type of clothing that fits your body type, but that can be quite time consuming. What can you do to find clothes for your body type?

Before you even go shopping, take note of your good and bad points of your body. Buy clothes that will accent these good points and distract from the bad. You may want to go through your clothes and take note of the ones you do and don’t like. Don’t buy clothes that are similar to the ones you don’t like, but focus on clothes that are similar to the ones you do like.

Stick with the stores you know sell your size. For average women, this is not a problem because most stores keep your size in stock, but for women under and over average, try to stay out of the stores you know don’t carry your size, or you’ll just waste your shopping time by browsing through things you’ll never buy.

Sometimes it’s hard to know if a piece of clothing is right for your body. That’s why it’s always good to have a second opinion. Bring a friend along with you when you shop. If you have plenty of shopping time, it’s okay to try on every piece of clothing you intend to buy. If you don’t have much time, try to eliminate the pieces you don’t like as much before you try them on.

It’s hard to find clothes that fit every body type. Make sure you know what fits your body type before you go shopping. Just because a piece of clothing looks cute, doesn’t mean that it will look cute on you. Try your hardest to eliminate clothing that is not cute on you, even if it’s cute by itself or you may have a hard time wearing it after you buy it.

The fashions of the ’80s went out when the ’90s came in. Good clothes worn badly, like dress coats with the collars popped and the sleeves pushed up, lace dresses worn with a disheveled appearance with jeans underneath, were out, and layers, layers, layers were back in. Just for a few years, though. The grunge look was only an interim until the kids born in the 1970s entered college. Then, their fashion came back. Puffy vests, brand names on shirts (see American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch)outlandish platform shoes and sandals.

The cycle repeated itself. The early 2000s saw another half-time fashion come in, Ugg boots and ripped jeans, spaghetti straps and decorator belt buckles. Then, in 2006, with the last of the the next generation graduating high school and shipping off for higher education, the ’80s came roaring back for part II.

Day-Glo everything. Black tights go with any outfit. Off-the-shoulder exercise tops. Pinstriped vests can be found in stores again. Grandma’s shoes, cause you’re indie cool. Thankfully, leotards were lost to the ’90s, but the rest of 1986 had a score to settle, and it’s not leaving for a few more years. It’s the law of current fashion; whatever generation is in college, their clothes get the limelight until the next decade’s children strike out on their own.

So hold on to those jeans of yours; they’ll go from “old” to vintage” before too long. Rip some holes to win some cred, or just put a lot of life into them.

The remnants of each reigning fashion linger on in the next big thing. Traces of ’90s layers can still be found in the resurrected ’80s fashions of today, Ugg boots underwent a slight retro re-outfitting and kept going strong. Call it fashion Darwinism if you will, where the good gets brought along by the rising threads, and the bad dies in the bargain bin, destined to languish in a second-hand store.

And fashion rolls on.

Watches are a tricky fashion, but can be a fun accessory. Originally a gentleman’ item, a pocket watch, preferably with some sentimental value, was a must. It was as much a sign of status as a time-keeping necessity. Gradually, ladies’ delicate wristwatches came into vogue, and now, you can find every type of watch imaginable. Watches can say a lot about an outfit, and about the person wearing it.
If you want fun and amusing for the kid in you, go for a cartoon-style watch, plastic or rubber, with any of your favorite characters on it. You can go out for a ritzy night on the town with a classy precious metal watch, and there are plenty of high-end retailers and jewelers who will be happy to find the right time-teller for you, for a price. However, most people want a watch that will tell them the time without a lot of hassle (which usually means they want a digital watch) and will still look good. Now, there’s a watch available that does all this.
A new, imaginative product has hit the scene and is making waves: silicon watches. Sometimes called “jelly watches”, they are flexible and elastic, so they can fit any size of wrist. Since i’s made silicon, it won’t rub, cut, or friction-burn the skin. They’e extremely easy to see, set and change the time, and look fashionable with a functional twist. Since they’re simple with basic parts and are almost completely made of silicon, these watches are extremely cheap, usually costing between $7 and $22. They’re perfect for athletes who can’t be bothered with a bulky or heavy watch, those with sensitive skin, or for anyone who just wants a cool-looking watch that will tell them the time and say something about their style at the same time.

Originally created in 1908, the Converse shoe brand has a history almost as colorful as the current pairs of shoes available today. In 1917, the flagship of the brand, the Converse All-star shoe was rolled out. A basketball player named Chuck Taylor came to work for Converse in 1921, and the brand took off, becoming the official shoe of the National Basketball Association. Dominating most of the market until after World War II, Converse was eventually surpassed by other brand names, and forced into bankruptcy in 2001. But the shoe is too good to be kept down, and under the new ownership of Footware Acquisitions Converse jumped from the 16th largest shoe company to the 7th in less than 800 days.

Converse has become less of a sports shoe and more of a indie self-declaring statement. Other brands like Nike and Reebok have taken the leading roles on that stage, but now, the rising generation and the youthful members of the older crowd wear their “chucks” as a way of stating “I’m young, hopeful, and this is me.” If you are anywhere on the liberal arts scene, you need a pair of All-stars. Take a look in any local theatre in the country, and the cast will be wearing Converse. Go to any late-night show and checking out the band: they’re wearing chucks. The brand name even got mentioned in the album “21st Century Breakdown” by Green Day.

Converse All-stars are available in an assortment of colors, although a solid black shoe with white accents in the standard. Converse has also produced shoes in patterns like skulls and crossed bones, hearts, plaid, and has also collaborated with well-known bands like The Who, singers like Kurt Cobain, and popular stories like Dr. Suess’ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas to create themed pairs of shoes. On their website, you can design and create your own, truly unique pair, so you can rock your chucks your way.

Oh, how the tides of fashion turn. Anytime during the 1990s or first half of the 2000s, and a kid would have been shoved in a locker for wearing dorky wide-rimmed glasses. Nowadays, though, nerd glasses are the new big thing.

With the ’80s fashion revival in full swing, it is a small wonder that big glasses came back. In the real 1980s, contacts were just coming out, and most folks with eye problems were still wearing large-lense glasses. Now, the fashion has resurfaced with the rest of that decade; day-glo accents, exercise wear, etc. However, since most people have contacts now to correct their seeing difficulties, the glasses no longer have lenses, just frames for show. That’s right: the cool thing now is empty glasses made of large, unflattering black plastic.

Bands like Cobra Starship, which is working hand in hand with ’80s renewal with their synthesizer-heavy music, have made dorky glasses cool again, and Taylor Swift wears a pair in the music video for her hit single Love Story. Pop singer (and sometimes actor) Justin Timberlake sports a pair of prescription glasses, done up in nerdy style (although, his actually have the lenses in them.) The rich and the famous wear these, and so will everyone else. That is, until this fashion era ends and a new one takes its place.

So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen: what once was normal and acceptable became nerdy, unpopular and a social death sentence, and has come full circle to once again being not only acceptable, but will score you some indie cred with the local hipsters. So dig out your old pair and pop the lenses out, or head to any outlet store like Hot Topic, Wal-Mart, or a dozen websites where you can get your own brand-new pair of dork glasses.

Everyone wears them. From the old man puttering around the house to the grandma in the garden to literally every student in a high school to the biggest fashionistas on the runway, everyone owns at least a pair or two of jeans. And small wonder too: Jeans have a lot of life in them. They can take a beating and keep going. It doesn’t matter if they are sopping wet or full of sand, blue jeans can take it. Life involves lots of hard work, and jeans are designed to be worn during that work. For one thing, they use rivets instead of stitching at the important sections of the cloth, so rips are less likely. If a pair of jeans dies of anything, it will be worn out knees, not ripped seams.

Jeans can also be stylish. One of the new vogues is colored jeans; instead of just blue, try black or grey, or red or yellow or green. The other great aspect to jeans is that they go with absolutely everything. White button up tops? Got it. polo shirt? sure. Plain t-shirt or graphic tee? Of course, duh. It’s one of, perhaps the most, versatile article of clothing on the market today. While they can be paired with dressy tops like button-ups and suit coats for men or knit-tops or trendy shirts for women, it’s still frowned upon to wear jeans to a fancy get-together. Save them for the day-to-day stuff. Jeans are simple, good pants. They don’t try to be pretentious, they just do their best and look good while they’re doing it. Flashbulbs and wineglasses isn’t really their thing.

So, if you don’t have a pair of jeans, go out and paint the town red (or blue.) And if you already own a pair of these hard-working, hard-partying pants, go get another pair of two. Everything good happens in jeans.

A product of the ’60s, punk isn’t so much a just a music style as an entire way of living. Punk is a way of looking at life. When a reporter asked Billie Joe Armstrong what punk was, Armstrong kicked over a trashcan and said “that’s punk.” The reporter did the same, knocking over a second can and asked, “that’s punk?” Billie replied, “no, that’s trendy.” And nobody defines punk like Billie’s band, Green Day.

Green Day hit the scene in 1987 and by 1992 they were the rising star of the lead/bass/drum punk trio set. In 2010, they’re still going strong off their second rock opera album and making millions. And doing it in style, too.

Mike Dirnt (when he plays air guitar, or air bass, he goes dirnt, dirnt, dirnt) tends to wear his signature sleeveless black button-up, collar popped high making waht appears to be rock fingers on either side of his head. Slap on some skinny black jeans over his lanky frame. For shoes, check out his very own line (partnered with MacBeth) of vegan shoes. Imagine a hybrid combat boot/shiny evening shoe, and you’ve got $79.99 of Vegan Dirnt. He’s not even a vegetarian.

Tre Cool, the drummer, will be a poster boy in his next life. On stage, he’s manic in a soaked tee, most likely with an emblem from his band on it, or a starched shirt with striped tie. On the red carpet, he likes to rock a fancy ink black suit or a Jack Skeleton-esque pinstripe with a faux bowtie hanging from one collar.

Billie Joe, as lead singer, has a style all his own. Live performances see him in a military-like shirt, with patches sewn haphazardly across it: the Warning! album emblem, smiley faces, etc. Tight skinny jeans, black to match his soul, and hair most of the time; he dyes it religiously. To round out his ensemble, he rocks a pair of worn-out Chuck Taylors.

500 years ago, clothes made the man (or the lady) and it is still true today. While high starched collars, frilly lace, doublets and rapiers may not be the nouvelle vogue, nothing says your hip like a good set of threads. You might not have a cape to throw down in the mud like certain gentlemen, but you’ll have a stylish coat on the arm you offer.

Clothes express a lot of messages. In the very instant someone sees you, they take you in by sight, which means they see your face, head, hands and whatever else you are showing. Everything else they see, is the clothes.

So, how to dress like the royalty you are? Remember, it all comes down to portraying the image you want people to see. The healthiest one is yourself because, hey, you’re yourself. That said, you don’t have to be sewing your own clothes. Do you like the skirt Ingrid Michaelson sported during her Everybody tour? Great. Go for it. You can rock it like a goddess. It shows your trendy, independent, and have good taste in music. Admiring President Obama’s tie from the State of the Union address? Nothing wrong with sending a message of well-put-togetherness and adding a dash of patriotism at the same time. Don’t be afraid to wear what you like; big, Texas-sized belt buckles didn’t come back in style on their own. Set the image you want people to see. Businessmen wear suits for a reason; soldiers wear uniforms for the same. Set your own style, and use manufacturers’ products to express that style.

What people wear is what they want to be. So much of a person’s self is wrapped up in what they wrap their body in. However, it’s important to remember that you’re portraying yourself; you’re not just a skin-and-bones coatrack.

Fashion trends come and go. Some merely recede and return decades later in a subtle different form. This year will be no different with the re-emergence of the seventies. Neutrals by day and bolds by night, fabrics are plain and a nautical theme overrides the recent military look.

Fashion trends are dictated by society and what is on people’s minds. People are concerned about the environment and this will set the jewelry fashion trend. The general idea in the back of our minds is to re-use and re-cycle and it is most important when deciding on jewelry.

Old favorites and classics are likely to re-surface. Pearls will be playing a dominate role both for their classic elegance, durability and renewable source. Tired of wars, society is in a playful mood and specialized artistic creations such as designer Aaron Basha will do well in the next few seasons. His jewel encrusted baby booty charms remind us of a forgotten childhood. Mikimoto will also be favored for his perfect pearls and exceptional high standards of quality.

Jewelry in 2011 is going to focus on less rather than more. Less meaning minimal not necessarily cheap. Bold and bright artistic designs will be popular and Chopard’s new animal theme line supporting the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) should be received with success. Helping to save our planet while also owning such fine masterpieces is exactly the line of thinking we are moving toward.

Bring out the old classics of Tacori or enjoy the new playful designs created by Basher and Chopard.

Either way insist on high quality, the finest reputable materials and favor renewable resources as much as possible. What we wear today will become the heirlooms of tomorrow.

With lots of cash and lots of dress-up opportunities, celebrities get to be the ones who try on a lot of fashions before the rest of the world does. Some of these trends are fabulous, some are flops. That’s up to you. But before making any decisions, here’s a rundown of what some celebrities are wearing today. What do they have that might look good on you?

Keira Knightley normally dresses like a pirate, but for one premiere she dropped the bucklers and boots and went for a more divine look. Arriving at the foot of the red carpet, Keira stunned onlookers with a gorgeous purple dress, made by Matthew Williamson. The dress is cut in the Greek halter-turns-dress style, with gold accents across the bodice and around the neck. Officially called the silk goddess dress, it makes it easy to imagine Keira relaxing on Mount Olympus. Her left wrist carried a metallic bangle from Wright & Teague and added to the ambiance of her Greek goddess look, showing that Hellenism won’t ever die.

Donald Sutherland, on the other hand, is putting on his signature well-dressed fatherly fashion (quick side note, he also played Keira’s father in 2006′s smash hit Pride and Prejudice). At the 2010 Winter Olympics, Sutherland, a Canadian by birth, not only participated in the opening ceremonies in an ice-white tux, but also cheered from the sidelines in top fashion, as Canada won the gold in hockey. Wearing a light blue button-up shirt, it said humble and familiar, yet striking at the same time. Donald topped that with a handsome red tie and a mauve scarf, both standing out nicely from his shirt. The whole ensemble was rounded out by a multi-layer black coat, at once both stylish and functional as Donald cheered his team to victory. He’s living proof that trendiness can always be a part of your life.

Any time there’s a prolonged war, the countries’ involved are affected right away in almost every way of life. Fashion is no exception. During World War II, both mens’ and womens’ fashions began to look more and more similar to the soldiers’ uniforms. The same is true today.

“Military-Style” is the new phrase on the fashion scene. Designers have started turning out coats, dressy tops, pants and footwear under that callsign. Desert colors (you know, like Afghanistan and Iraq) are in, tan and drab green. Giuseppe Zanotti has introduced a stylish pair of Army-inspried boots, with the leather and metal bindings that are practically the same as combat boots (except these ones let your toes peek out.

Cargo-style pants are all the rage again, with lots of drawstring pockets and washers. While the armed forces style is baggier, the runway’s trends are combining skinny jeans with army chic and unveiling tight pants with big pockets. Also en vogue in the checkered scarf look, as sported by multiple celebrities and which has now arrived in mainstream fashion. Unfortunately, the checkered scarf, or kaffiyeh as it is known in the Middle East, is a symbol for the Palestinian independence movement, worn by members of the PLO as a symbol of carrying on the struggle against Israel and the U.S., so heads up if you want to work that into your spring outfits.

Other militaria that has crossed over the realm of fashion are military-style jackets, both old-world, with big buttons going up the front a la Sergeant Pepper, and new-world, with double-breasted pockets and sharp collars. Military shoulder bags, such as messenger bags, have been in with the in-crowd since the 1980s and today is no exception. If you can’t afford the one of the rack, hit the surplus store for an authentic one.

It is a long standing debate: clothes intended for fashion or function? To look nice or to accomplish a task? There’s a whole gambit of fashion answers: totally form, looking good for the sake of it; totally function, not dressing to impress but dressing for what you’ll be doing in the clothes; a little bit of both (can’t we all just get along?) and various other clothing compromises. One thing is for sure: Everybody looks good in the mean time.

A great example is safari clothes. A light cotton shirt with double-breasted pockets (conveniently sized for a notebook and pencil) and sleeve-tab closures is exactly what you need in a LandRover on the Savannah. Now however, you can find that exact shirt on racks at Forever 21, Banana Republic, et al. Function, gone over to fashion. The trend tends to usually go that way, as opposed to fashion going to function. Ah, progress.

Cargo pants are one of the trademark situations of this phenomenon. Originally used by the military so soldiers would have a place to carry all their gear, fashion designers quickly began making civilian versions of the garment which met with great success. However, this has been going on long enough that it’s almost gone full circle. Military style has adopted some of the civilian aspects of cargo pants (such as doing away with the double flap over the buttons) and modern day civilian cargoes have shrunk the size of pockets to match the tighter military look of today. In the end, it’s one well-dressed dog chasing its tail.

Fashion can be a tricky thing, but it is all about looking and feeling good. Go ahead and be daring in your fashion, but dress for yourself and the things you like and not what a magazine cover recommends for you.

You look great.

Being fashionable is a concern for many women. While some people are not concerned with the latest fashion trends, many women find themselves compelled to be in style. They strive to put their best foot forward at all times of the day and night. These women often have closets full of hundreds of items, making it possible for them to mix and match to create new outfits every day. One of the ways they stay up to date on the latest fashions is by reading fashion magazines.

The printed word is very useful when it comes to fashion. Women can read about the latest styles that are hitting the runways in Paris. They can take what they learn and create the look before it even hits the American market. They can look through pictures of celebrities and see what the rich and famous are wearing. Some magazines even have helpful sections devoted to helping women re-create a celebrity look on a small budget. These helpful tips make it possible for women with tight budgets to look like a superstar.

Another way fashion magazines help women stay in fashion is by giving them tips on what not to wear. Explanations about how different patterns and styles can make a body look bad help women avoid the wrong outfits. It is also a great way to get a quick laugh by looking at the pictures of some celebrity fashion mishaps.

Even with the increasing use of the internet to report the latest news, reading fashion magazines is still a popular pastime with millions of women. With pictures and articles, fashion magazines help women to keep up with the latest in fashion and teach them to apply style to their own wardrobe. When a woman dresses in the latest styles, she feels good on the inside and outside.

Being in styles is important if you want to make a good impression. A few instances when you might need to make a good impression include job interviews and first dates. Looking your best will boost your confidence and help you to stand out to other people. Imagine going for an interview in your sweats and t-shirt. You are not likely to get that job. However, if you show up in a fashionable business suit that makes you look and feel professional, you are more likely to impress the interviewer.

The same applies to a first date. Being in style makes a good first impression. Showing up for a first date in ratty jeans and an old blouse tells your date that you did not put any thought into your appearance. If you show up dressed in a sassy, stylish outfit with the perfect accessories, your date knows you took the time to look your best. First impressions really are everything and wearing the latest fashions can help you make the best impressions every time.

When you dress in the latest fashions and make the right impression, you will see the results. You will get that call for a second interview. You will get that phone number for a second date. Above all else, dressing stylishly will make you feel confident. Having confidence will raise your self-esteem and before you know it, you will be pursuing the things you never thought you could have. As silly as it may seem, the right clothes will help you to succeed.

You have probably heard that saying, “Dress the part.” This is a true statement – if you want something, dress the part and watch it happen. If you believe in yourself and your abilities, dress for the part, for what you want, and let the fates handle the rest.

Being in fashion means knowing what is in and what is out. If you do not know what to wear and when to wear it, you run the risk of being out of style. There are a few key things to remember when it comes to the ins and outs of fashion.

-Keep up with the times. Read the latest fashion magazines and even the gossip magazines. These are great tools for knowing what the celebrities are wearing. You can then create outfits based on what others are wearing.

-Add your personal flair. No matter what you are wearing, make it yours. If you are dressed professionally, add a pin, purse or other accessory that fits your personal style. Little touches of flair make the outfit stand out and people will take notice.

-Never add too much flair. Instead of winding up on someone’s “What was she thinking?” list, keep your flair simple and understated. Unless you have a craving for negative attention, avoid the odd, weird and downright silly touches.

-Retro is good, to a point. Several items are coming back into style. Flared jeans are one example. The flare at the bottom of the legs reminds people of bell-bottom pants. Remember that these are not bell-bottoms and you should never drag out the polyester, paisley-printed pants from 1968. Wear retro styles that are re-created, not the originals.

-Less is not always more. Showing more skin is not always the best choice, especially as you get older. Dress appropriately for your age. This does not mean having to dress in your grandmother’s clothes. Find flattering styles that keep you covered while hugging you in all the right places.

Fashion and style is about looking good and feeling great. Follow these tips and you will soon be the one your friends try to mimic.

Creating the perfect outfit is a process. You have to take all the right pieces and combine them in the perfect way. Many people find it difficult to create the perfect outfit. Instead of trying to make their own, they just buy outfits from the stores. This is an easier option but can end up costing extra money. You can create some of the same looks that famous people wear just by combining the right pieces.

Start with your basic idea. Make the decision about what kind of outfit you are creating. Is it for a night out on the town? Is it for your first day on the job? Are you making an outfit for weekend wear with the kids? Perhaps you need to dress for an outdoor event. It is up to you to decide what type outfit you need to create. Make sure the outfit you have in mind is suitable for the occasion.

Once you know the occasion and have an idea in mind, start picking the pieces. For example, if you need a casual outfit for a weekend with the kids, avoid high heels and tight skirts. Instead, choose some comfortable, yet fashionable jeans. You can even choose simple pants if you are just not the kind of person that enjoys jeans. Make sure the pants or jeans fit you right. Wearing clothes that are too big or too small is common mistake.

Add a shirt that looks and feels comfortable while still staying in style. Choose short sleeves for the summer and long sleeves for the winter. Once you have the basic look, add accessories. Casual outfits call for casual shoes. Add the right amount of jewelry. Your purse should not overpower your outfit – it needs to compliment it. With the perfect accessories and clothes, you are ready to face the world.

Being a fashion model is probably every young girl’s dream! Walking and strutting the runway has got to be one of the most invigorating feelings there is, next to being photographed and beckoned for “more, more” pictures of you as you float away from the stage. Shooing away those photographers who beg for more opportunities to photograph your beauty and being the center of attention in some of the most stunning clothes are dreams that can only be lived out on the stage.

Or are they?

Yes, being a model sounds so exciting and thrilling, but the reality is that every young girl (or guy) will not become a model, nor will they get to see many of the stunning sites that are in places like London or Paris, where models get to travel and work. But, isn’t it okay to have that dream and even to work toward achieving it?

While yes, it is way cool to strut the runway, modeling goes well beyond the catwalk. You can still submit your photos and bio to modeling agencies for your chance to live a modeling dream. You can use a model download program to work on your photos, edit your images and submit them to several places for consideration.

Be sure to use the software that you download to edit your photos in a way that keeps your pictures genuine. In other words, just manipulate things like lighting, contrasting colors in the background or red-eye reduction to erase the glare that occurs. You certainly do not want to edit the photos in such a way that you look totally different than you really are. Keep it genuine and normal, and you never know what opportunities you might discover in the world of modeling.

Everyone likes to look their best and this means having the right clothes. While some people spend thousands of dollars on name brands, others simply cannot afford it. It is perfectly possible to dress fashionably without breaking the bank. You just have to be creative with your outfits and make your dollars stretch.

Instead of shopping for the designer labels, try your neighborhood department store. You can find many comparable items for a fraction of the price. For example, avoid the expensive cashmere sweater in that lovely lilac color you adore. Instead, choose the purple, knit sweater that still looks good and costs less than thirty dollars. Buying comparable items will save you hundreds of dollars every year.

The key to saving money and staying in fashion is to use your imagination. Pick pieces that you can interchange. Sometimes the simplest item will completely change the look of an outfit. Instead of buying a dress for the office and one for going out with friends, buy a simple, black dress. Paired with sensible shoes and minimal jewelry, this dress is perfect for the office. Add more jewelry, extra makeup, high heels and stockings and you have a dress for a night on the town. Throw in a brightly colored shawl for even more pizazz.

If you just have to have a designer label here and there, think wisely before you make your purchase. Make agreements with yourself, such as designer shoes matched with department store clothes. Buy that expensive purse but make your next five outfits be priced under fifty dollars. By keeping your money in check, you can avoid overspending. You will still have the designer labels you want but only on a smaller scale.

The next time you need a new outfit and do not have much money, let your creative juices flow. You can make a beautiful outfit for a minimal price with some careful planning and creative thinking.

For many people, being in fashion is a must. They insist on wearing only the trendiest clothes every season. Not only do they insist on being in style at all times, they want their children to be in style, too. Just as adult fashion changes from season to season and year to year, so do children’s fashions. Children of all ages can be dressed just as fashionably as their parents.

Finding the latest fashions for kids means more than just going to your local department store. While department store shopping is fine for the basic wardrobe, if you want your kids in the most current styles, you will have to shop outside of your comfort zone. Start by searching the internet for the latest in children’s clothes. You can review what celebrity children are wearing and visit the websites of trendy stores. You do not have to live in New York City to have fashion sense. You can find all of the latest styles for your kids without ever leaving home.

If the sky is the limit for you when it comes to shopping for your kids, you will have more options. If your budget is limited, you can still find fashionable clothes at reasonable prices. You may have to consider “knock-offs” if your budget is tight. “Knock-offs” are simply fashion designs that are made to look like name brand fashions. If you are adamant that your kids wear the real thing, take your time and comparison shop. The world of fashion is competitive and you can often find what you want at competing websites.

As you dress your children in the latest styles, remember that you are setting a pattern. Be prepared to continue keeping them styled in the current fashions, as they get older. Being in fashion is an expense, but if you can afford it, have fun with it!

If you want to know what fashions are in style, you just have to open your favorite celebrity gossip magazine. You can look at tons of pictures of celebrities and see what they are wearing. Many people enjoy dressing like their favorite celebrity. Celebrities have always been fashion icons – some of them good and some of them bad. Even children and teens have their favorite celebrities that they want to dress like.

One thing to remember about the celebrities that your children admire is that they are not always admirable. If your child admires a celebrity, try to keep up-to-date on what the celebrity is doing. Young celebrities have a tendency to be more admirable while they are young. As the young celebrities get older, they start to rebel against their innocent background. Often, the way they dress is the first thing they change. Their sense of fashion can quickly deteriorate as they strive to be their own person. While this is fine for the celebrity, it may not be fine for your child. Pay attention to what your child’s favorite celebrity is wearing because your child might be wearing it next.

Celebrities are also notorious for starting fashion trends. People see a celebrity wearing a certain outfit or accessory and the next thing you know, everyone is wearing it. Reading the gossip magazines and fashion magazines are a great way to see what the latest craze is in the fashion world. Keeping your own sense of style up-to-date is a great way to look and feel young. Go ahead and follow the latest trend, as long as it is appropriate for your age and makes you feel good.

Fashion is always changing. What is stylish one day can quickly go out of style the next. Read the magazines, research the internet and keep your sense of fashion on the cutting edge.

For many women, fashion is a necessity. They want to look their best at all times. Being in style is a part of being fashionable. You can be dressed in the perfect outfit but if it is from 1972, you will only succeed in looking silly. If you want to be fashionable, if you want to be the fashion icon of your group of friends, you must keep with the times and the latest fashions.

Fashion is a full picture. It is more than just the right pants and shirt. Being fashionable involves your hair, makeup and accessories. The perfect outfit can be ruined with the wrong accessory. Take a look at some of the gossip magazines. There are segments that showcase women wearing the same outfit and discussions about which one wore it best. Often, the deciding factor is an accessory. Pairing a chunky belt and clunky shoes with a simple, summer dress is the wrong choice. Simple, strappy sandals and a sash for your waist is the better choice. Remember, accessories add the finishing touches to your outfit.

Another important feature of an outfit is your hair and makeup. The wrong hairstyle can ruin your overall look and have people talking about you under their breath. Pay attention to your hairstyle. If you are dressed in a casual outfit, keep your hair casual. Today is a time for soft, touchable hair, not stiff, spiky hair -“ unless you are embracing the “Emo” look.

The key to wearing makeup is to look as if you are not wearing any at all. Makeup is supposed to mask your blemishes and enhance your natural beauty. Keep your makeup simple and make sure it compliments your skin tone. A common mistake is to wear too much makeup and end up looking like plastic. Fashion is a combination of clothes, accessories, makeup, and hairstyle. Pay attention to the details and you will always be the epitome of fashion.

Many fashion trends come in and out of the fashion world in the blink of an eye. Looking back over time at some of these trends is a great way to take a walk down memory lane. Some of the trends were fun to wear and looked fabulous. Other trends were odd and funny to wear. No matter what trends you took part in, you can have fun remembering all the fashion trends of the past.

Depending on your age, you might remember when leg warmers were the thing to wear. Everyone wore leg warmers. These cozy items were like socks without the foot. You wore them on top of your pants. Like a big, leg mitten, the leg warmers kept your leg warm and, more importantly, made you look hip and fresh.

Parachute pants were another fun fashion trend. When MC Hammer made his way onto the pop scene, he did it wearing parachute pants. These pants came in a variety of colors. They were unique because they had large, ballooning legs, like a parachute. They were the perfect pants for looking snazzy on the dance floor.

Another fashion trend of yesterday was the rolling of the pant leg. Instead of wearing your jeans with the regular hemmed edge showing, you rolled them up. This was not a simple rolling into a cuff. You had to roll them tightly so that they hugged your leg snugly. Paired with some classic, scrunch socks, you had a look that fit right in with everyone else.

Finally, a fashion trend that went beyond the clothes was the big hair. During the 80s, big hair was a must. The bigger your hair, the sexier you looked. It was almost a challenge to see how much you could rat your hair and how much hair spray you could use to achieve maximum altitude. Looking back on some of these fashion trends brings back great memories.

Staying in style with a limited budget may seem impossible, but it can be done. You just have to use your head and be creative. Millions of people stay fashionable with a fixed income. Retail stores understand that not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend on fashion every month. Some people have only a few hundred dollars for an entire year. While it may seem like a daunting task, you can look fashionable and stylish with even the tightest budget.

The first thing to remember about shopping on a budget is to stick to your budget. No matter how much you may want that designer label, your needs come before your wants. Create your fashion budget and adhere to it or you will regret it later on.

Next, forget the designer stores and websites. If you are on a tight budget, you will have to get used to wearing off-brands. Do not be discouraged by this because anymore, the off-brands look just as good as the designer brands. Instead of depressing yourself by looking at what you cannot afford, stick to the department stores that carry affordable, stylish clothes.

Try to recreate outfits that you like. Go through the fashion magazines and find styles that you like. Then, hit your favorite department store and find similar items. Your outfit does not have to have a designer label and price tag to look good. With enough effort, you can wear exactly what the stars are wearing, only for a better price.

Finally, create your own style. You are not bound by the rich and famous. Use your imagination and come up with a personal style that matches your personality and features. Instead of trying to fit in with everyone else, think outside of the box and create your own fashions. You can make looks that are affordable and stylish while sticking to your budget.
